Petrochemical enterprises adopt the patented technology jointly authorized by Honeywell UOP and ExxonMobil

Honeywell (nyse:hon) UOP and ExxonMobil announced to sign a technology license agreement with Hainan hanti sunshine Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (hanti sunshine), which is the first high-quality fuel and lubricating oil production project obtained by the two technology suppliers in China on the basis of concluding a market alliance

through the integrated technology platform of Honeywell UOP and ExxonMobil, hanti sunshine can produce cleaner burning aviation kerosene and diesel, as well as high-quality class II/class III lubricating base oil. These base oils are usually used in high-quality high-performance engine oils and industrial lubricants. The project is located in its production base in Hainan and will adopt Unicracking of Honeywell UOP ™ Technology and msdw of ExxonMobil ™ Catalytic dewaxing technology of lubricating oil

Mike Millard, vice president and general manager of Honeywell UOP process and equipment business, said: "the combination of UOP's hydrotreating solution and ExxonMobil's catalytic dewaxing technology provides hanti sunshine with an integrated solution to produce fuel and lubricants. This helps to meet China's growing demand for engine oil, ultra-low sulfur diesel and aviation kerosene."

Dave Andrew, vice president of global business of ExxonMobil catalyst and technology licensing, said: "in 2015, the number of cars in China has reached nearly 300million, and it is expected to climb to 600million by 2025. The rapid growth of the number of cars in China has boosted the ability of high-quality lubricant to cope with trade protectionism and enhance the demand for lubricants, which also highlights the importance of this technology."

Honeywell UOP's Unicracking process and catalyst can upgrade the heavy fractions in crude oil and produce ultra clean distillates, such as diesel and aviation kerosene, as well as raw materials for the production of lubricating oils. Honeywell UOP has more than 50 years of experience in developing and licensing hydrotreating solutions, including advanced catalysts and special equipment, and has authorized more than 200 units in more than 40 countries around the world

ExxonMobil's msdw process is an industry-leading selective dewaxing technology for the production of high-quality base oils. At present, 30 authorized units are in operation or design. The patented catalyst used in this technology can reduce the pour point and achieve a high level of aromatics saturation, so as to produce a base oil with excellent low-temperature characteristics and long-term stability

Hainan hanti sunshine Petrochemical Co., Ltd. was established in Yangpu Economic Development Zone, Hainan Province, China in 2006. The company's products include conventional class II and class III base oils, insulating oils, industrial grade white oils, cosmetic white oils and other types of special oils
